Russian regions increased payments to Putin's mercenaries

The cost of a one-time payment for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation from Russian regions has increased to 225 thousand rubles. Over the year it has grown 1.5 times.

As “Important Stories” calculated, in March of this year, a one-time regional payment on average reached 225 thousand rubles. Upon entering the service, a Russian contract soldier receives 420 thousand rubles, including the federal part in the amount of 195 thousand rubles.

Since the beginning of March, regional payments have increased in five Russian regions at once. In the Astrakhan and Nizhny Novgorod regions it reached 500 thousand rubles. This is one of the largest regional surcharges for signing a military contract with the Ministry of Defense.

A year ago, the largest payments in Russia were offered by five regions - 300 thousand rubles each. The bar has been raised significantly: now a record amount of 805 thousand is promised by the authorities of the Moscow region.

Most regions of Russia have introduced cash incentives for contract workers. In only 10 regions, Russians who enlist in military service receive only a federal lump sum payment.

Moscow is one of the regions in which contract workers are limited to a federal payment of 195 thousand rubles. In return, the Moscow authorities promise to pay 50 thousand rubles for each month of service.

In June 2022, Adygea became the first region to introduce a one-time payment for Russian contract workers. In November 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on paying mobilized and contract soldiers a one-time payment in the amount of 195 thousand rubles.
